My Relationship - Modern Technology and Romance

In this day and age of faster is better, and modern technology, is it still possible to have an old fashioned romance?
Absolutely. The trick is knowing how to fuse the old with the new - a romance hybrid if you will. Even in this modern age, we humans crave personal contact. Here are some tips on how to be a modern day "romance expert."
  • Phone Calls: Great old fashioned tool to use for in depth conversations, asking out on the first (or 2nd, or 3rd) date.
  • Texting: Good to use for short conversations or flirty messages once a relationship has been established. Not to be used for in depth relationship conversations, fighting, asking out on first dates, or big news.

  • Instant Messaging: Great tool that can be used during the day or a busy schedule. Good way to communicate on the run, but the same basic rules of texting applies here. It is a tool for communication, not to be used as the main form of communication.
  • Facebooking: A great way to add fun and flirty communication to your relationship.
  • Skyping: Especially useful in long distance relationships and long trips. This helps keeps couples feel connected even when far away.
The main thing to remember is that technology should enhance communication, not be the main type of communication. As modern technology becomes more prevalent in our daily lives, we are still human beings who still crave personal contact. Face to face is still the most effective way to build connection and chemistry.
